As I was going through sites looking for some inspiration before the gig, I came across Merolla.

Need to hear through the entire video with headphones. Notice the bottom mike placement. Obviously the man loves the bottom end. Great drummer in my estimate.

I can see the Buddy influence
and the rest of the following
generation or trad-players in
him. I am pleased. Notice the
bass pedal and the angle of
the chain pull-down. He has
a real command of his feet and
his hands. It is clear. A fine, fine
trad player and giving credit to us.
Would love to hear him with a band.
