That was nice of your friend Jay to supply the motif keyboard for Patrice to use for the gig.
Even nicer for her to autograph it for him!!!

A win-win situation....

D.L.,

Here is the snare as described in Billy's own words as told to Ted.

Ted: I played on a snare that was made special for me called "Septimbre"............ Question This one was made by the percussionist of the Philadelphia Philharmonic, Anthony Orlando and is model of the original Septimbre out of Kansas City. It has a three snare throw off setup for Steel, wire and gut snares. I thought that I would check it out in a live performance situation to see how felt. It is a 7" shell, by the way.

Don you were there, how did that snare sound, was it crisp, did it have a nice crack, or pop to it, and how did it sound when Billy did his closed rolls ?

As you know, Spanky, much has to do not only with the equipment used but also with the sound system it is projected through and how that system has been set up.... Under all circumstances the drum sounded great. I got achance to play it a little bit off the system. I can tell you that it is very sensitive (which is one of my personal criteria for a great snare drum), crisp and responsive. It also projects very well. It's very likely that Billy can get an array of tonal qualities out of it depending on the heads that are used and the tuning that's applied.

It's a kick-tail snare drum, man.
