Just got back

Hi, guys,

Just got back from a three day stint at the Nugget in Sparks Nevada (3 miles north of Reno)... Pretty dry. This economy is putting a hurt everywhere.
What used to be a bustling town is actually pretty thin these days. you used to not be able to walk through the streets up there without continually bumping into someone.... Now, you can walk the entire strip blindfolded and just about not realize anyone else is out and about...

Shows were cool though and Audrey and I had lots of fun doing some shopping during the down time. It sure is good to be home though, I'm pretty tired.

I'll be at BB King's in Vegas on the 5th of December. I'll let you know how that goes....

How did the shows go Don ?

Playing casinos is not the most ideal situation from an entertainment platform, Spanky. People go to those places to gamble and the band winds up being filler music, just something to pass the time.... Kinda like being in an elevator or listening to the "please hold" music on the phone. The upside is the monetary compensation and the free three day stay in a nice hotel room. Audrey and I sort of made a mini vacation of it.

The band played well but the gig itself was a bit boring. We as entertainers get much if not most of our drive and oomph from the positive energy of the audience. When that doesn't happen and they start acting like you're not even there, it makes for a long evening. Though the pay is quite good, it's not something I look forward to doing often... I've done it three times this already this year.... I'm good!

You know, nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there kinda thing.
