the Holdsworrth show was fun I took adam and another bassist and a drummer. We had a good time boys night out.
It was a totally improvised show. I don't know if you would have liked it that much.
Holsdworth took a long time to come out of his shell with an opening slow bluesy groove.
But they left him these big solo sections just him doing his gorgeous slow chordal improv.
he did some passages early on that drew from that very elaborate Debussey harmony that was tearjerkingly beautiful.
that was worth the price of admission right there he did tear it up at times but it was more about bozzio and his humongous drumset.
Tony Levin was good too. he got to do some solo upright bass and stick with looping with holdsworth joining in that was sweet.
holdsworth really added an nice harmony to what was happening and then would solo over it all. It was like holdsworth with african/latin
more tribal kinds of grooves. some of it was a little weak as far as the grooves being very interesting
kind of simple too much 4 on the floor bass drum. but it had it's payoffs.
they did do some more up tempo free bop letting holdsworth cut loose.

i could tell terry was having a good show. He did what was like tabla tarang on his toms probably didn't even play half his kit. mastellotto was like his workhorse laying down bottom end drumset like a garage band. Terry went to the gongs and it was all over
