That's interesting Don,

Sometimes if I'm changing heads on a tom I'll just kinda feel it out without doing the traditional tuning methods, and when i pick up the drum, and hit it to see where I'm at tonally, it's singing...go figure!

Makes you realize there's more than one way to tune.
