Colin,

Hi. Hope you are well and it's been
way, way too long.

I wonder if you can share with us
some of the knowledge you have
about the endorsement deals that
most of the top name drummers
have with the manufacturers.

Of course, I am not referring to
Billy's deal in any way.

drunken

Thanks, bud.

Regards,

I'm thinking, if one of those cables snaps with all that tension on it some nasty stuff could go down, or maybe not. Only time will tell. Those drums sound fantastic though.

I like the look of these drums- they're handmade and seem to be good quality as far as the shells, and attached hardware.

My concern with these drums is when you tension them, both heads tighten up the same. It seems you could get a good tone out of them, but maybe only one good tone, instead of being able to have the bottom head tighter or looser to change the timbre, and projection.

It is a neat idea, I'd like to try them and see what I could do tuning wise. I wonder how changing heads is with these as well....yikes..haha

Leedy Drums sort of had this type of concept, back in the 50's with the ''Knob Tension Drums''

D. Slam

Pros:

Seems like this method gives you even tension
on the hoops, both top and bottom.

The drums seem to really resonate and they sound
great! The resonate factor is a big plus for me and
the sound quality goes without saying.

Easy, Peesy.

Cons:

Like Spanky said, If that cable snaps.... OH NO!!!

Like D.L. pointed out, changing heads looks like a bear!

Again, D.L. pointed out not having the ability to tune both
top and bottom heads individually. If you gonna go this
route, a consideration might be considering having two
tuning lugs. One for the top and another for the bottom.
