Aaron has so much groove! Though I can't really understand why these gospel chops players feel they have to hit the drums so hard.... Another thing is they do these really cool fills and end them with the snare and crash cymbal... kinda takes away from the thunder, for me anyway. Aaron can lay it though that's for sure. Truth is though you hear the same kind of stuff from Eric Moore, Thomas Pridgen and a host of others.

A lot of times you hit hard for effect even listen to Billy with Mahavishnu. And then also you don't have to hit so hard. I'll tell you what though, Gospel Chop drummers are a different breed of drummers and they are here to stay. Metal drummers are also hard hitters. I think that you should only hit hard for certain effects.
