WHEN PADDY DOHERTY'S ALE HOUSE IN THE BRONX CLOSED LAST SPRING, WE LOST A GREAT PLACE TO PLAY AND HANG OUT. WE HAD BEEN HAVING THESE GET-TOGETHERS EVERY OTHER THURSDAY FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS AND I GOT TO PLAY MANY TIMES AND MEET SOME GREAT MUSICIANS I HADN'T KNOWN PERSONALLY BACK IN THE DAY, BUT HAD GONE TO SEE MANY TIMES.
THIS GENTLEMAN I HAVE KNOWN FOR ABOUT 40 YEARS, THOUGH WE HAD LOST TOUCH WITH EACH OTHER FOR A GOOD NUMBER OF YEARS UNTIL PADDY'S BROUGHT US BACK TOGETHER 3 YEARS AGO. HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PHENOMENAL DRUMMER, AND IS ONE OF THE MOST HUMBLE MUSICIANS I KNOW. ANOTHER NEW FRIEND BILL LAPPE CAPTURED THIS SOLO ON THE FINAL NIGHT AT PADDY'S. I HOPE YOU GUYS WILL ENJOY IT !
