Here's the new band I'm playing with these days.
Vocals, Guitar, Bass Guitar & Drums.

An original tune called "Broken Bottle".

I moved the song to myspace to download it for people who don't have quicktime.

Very nice Woody,
the singer has a little of that Michael McDonald tone.

Thanks, Dave.
I just got tickets to see Michael McDonald and Earth, Wind & Fire on Sept. 11th here in NH.
Last time I saw him, Michael, perform was with the Doobie Bros. in the 70's at the Music Hall in Boston.

I enjoyed that a lot, Woody. I sort of felt the singer had a little Gregg Allman in there, as did the tune. The guitarist had a nice tone. Does the band have a name yet ?

If I was mixing it, I would have brought up your bass drum a tad, and would have backed off the reverb a tad. It makes it feel far away. Just my .02, which is probably worth less than that nowadays.

What kind of file was that ? an m4a ? It loaded fast and sounds good ! Peace, TED

It's a MPEG-4 Audio File (.m4a), Ted.
Our guitar player, Jarrod Taylor, recorded it to his Mac computer.

No, we don't have a name yet, but someone mentioned "Spectrum".
That's cool.......

It is just a one take demo we recorded on a Tascam recorder.
Yes, there was too much reverb in it because it was a quick mix to get the sound.
The song was recorded in one take with all the members playing.

I only recorded the drums from an overhead mic but next time I'll have all the drums miked with a couple of overheads, also.

We have more originals to record, so I'll post them as we go along.

Thanks, Anibal, too.

Thanks, Ted.
It was recorded on the Yamaha custom set used in my avatar.
Next time the quality of the recording should be better. Smile

Artful new project, Woody, congrats. Some cool sounds. If you wanna keep this gig, I suggest you refrain from talking about the war and, definitely, no hunting on breaks. Leave your archery stuff at home and just keep to the drums and you'll be fine. On second thought, do whatever you feel and you'll be touring with Ted Nugent very soon as both his drummer and campaign manager. So that's not the Supraphonic on the recording?

No, it's a Yamaha wooden snare that comes with the kit.

Hi Woody!

Since this morning, I'm not able to log into MySpace, and quicktime is not a format I want to install on my laptop computer.

I'll keep trying to work through the problem (if on my end) and will get back to you. Can't wait to hear what you guys are doing. It looks exciting!

Love,

Hi Robert...

Broken Bottle sounds a lot like a Marvin Gaye'ish with Hamisch Stuart of the original AWB to me. Unfortunately when I tried to log into MySpace again, it is their rescent updates with flash, etc. that prevents my laptop from deciphering the code. If I was working from my desktop, there'd be no problem. I did hear enough of the song though to want to hear more of it, with you in mind. Clearly, this is a problem on my end - yet MP4 format has yet to be generally accepted. MP3 is still the foundation. Send me via email of the tune in that format. That way I can play it without the glitches.

Sounds great though... glad to hear you groovin Woody!

Yeah!!!

Nice, Woody! Never heard this side of you before... Very cool, man, I really dug it. Nice fills!

I love the chord progressions and the way the tune moves.

You had me bobbin on that one, Woodman.

Very nice work!

I also dig the chords the keyboard player playes and the way he pads on "put it where you want it."

Thanks, Don.
The gigs are coming in for us now that we've been rehearsing for awhile.
I'll try to get some more tracks of some of our demo songs we're doing, soon.
Looks to be a promising summer for us, hopefully. Wink

Cool, Woody!

Just got wind of this.

What happened to the old
band? Wish the sax was a
bit higher in the mix. I could
barely hear him.

Solid, man.

I dug the open quarter-
notes, on the HH, late, in
'Southbound'. Very
cool, dude!!

Regards,

I had a falling out with the leader of the old band, Pete.

He wasn't booking any gigs so it was time to move on to something, hopefully, better.

I played with them for 12 years.

That is a LONG time, Woody.

A shame, really but I know this
kind of thing can happen.

The new band real fine. I like
the vocalist. I am sure it will
work out for you.
