Re: http://rettthompson.com/rudyvaughn [a/v documentary]
On the morning of 2/4/2010 I received this email at home with the above link… and as captioned:
“In 2009 the Hard Rock hosted its first national battle of the bands, The Ambassadors of Rock. One band, one winner, had the opportunity to represent America and perform on the same stage as Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews band, Neil Young, The Killers and a full line up in front of tens of thousands of people in London's legendary Hyde Park. Over a 2 month period of time, and 150 bands later, one group, the Rudy Vaughn Band, became that band. This is the story of their experience... the time when a band who had only been performing together for less than a year was able to jump to an international stage in front of tens of thousands of people, seemingly overnight.”
I am very proud of my friend and former band-mate, Rudy - and fully expect that with his talent and musical drive, he’s well on the way toward a successful career in a VERY competitive industry. He’s an incredible artist and musician and it was a unique pleasure of mine to have shared the stage with him on more than one occasion.
I just wanted to share my excitement with you Guys!
Enjoy the approximate 20+ minutes of this compiled documentary on my friend and his band’s trip to London's Hyde Park last summer...
BTW... those who really know me on this forum will remember me testifying that The Guild of Sound (c. 2003-2007, including Rudy) was perhaps the most enjoyable musical collaboration I've ever experienced.
Rudy played the sax and sang vocals with The Guild.
I am REALLY proud of this guy and hope that everything (and everyone) in his heart will come to fruition.
P.S. Sample songs of The Guild of Sound can be found on the Byte side of this forum...
