What is that they are in, it looks like a dingy garage, with crap all over the place.
It sound like a bunch of drunks in the background, egging him on.

Everything is possible if you practice, what he is doing is not that amazing.
If you sit down for an hour or so everyday you can do this also.
Most people sell themselves short because they think they could never play like that..... they are wrong.

How do you get to Carnegie Hall?....PRACTICE!

I'm in agreement with you here, drumman. We have a tendency
to keep pushing our heros out in front of us, convincing ourselves
that we could never be as good as they are. Even when we hear
something from a local unknown that is equally as good or even
better. We convince ourselves that it isn't, simply because it will
jeopardize the god-like idolization we create of our mentors.

I left a comment on his site: I said "maybe the reason why artists like
Morello, Bellson, Weckl and Cobham "can't" do that is because they've
spent 30-40 plus years creating great music instead."

I doubt it got posted being that all posts are first monitored then approved
on his youtube page.

With that written, yes I agree, great hands.

I recall seeing ads in Modern Drummer way back that had Cully offering a video to look at Buddy's technique. Based on what I've heard Buddy speak, about individuality and having your own voice on your instrument, a Buddy clone would not have been looked at too kindly by him. Butch Miles seemed to fall into the same hole. Great drummers, though.

The whole garage setting? LOL. Looks like a bunch of you guys hanging out. I loved it.

Not to mention Buddy was also a showman.

You have to admit, Cully's work on wrist and finger development is pretty phenomenal. It appears he took it to as high a level as Buddy, himself.

People have made the clone comments for years, but in another way Cully is what Buddy inspired him to be, from a standpoint of technique.
